You've reached Mako. Leave a message. ( it seems like that's going to be all, but then there's a rather awkward pause and he continues, ) If it's an urgent matter, direct your call to local authorities and/or emergency services. You can access these resources by — ( beep. he ran out of recording space. good job, mako. best cop. )

[ He only came here to say that, so he doesn't have anything else he wants to bring up. That makes the silence even more uncomfortable. ]
I guess I'll go back to ... figuring out how to see with my feet. [ He's no longer an Earthbender but it beats doing nothing when you're blind. ]

What are rooms filled with, Bolin?
( air. rooms are filled with air. )
no subject
Is that a riddle?
no subject
( okay maybe it's a riddle, even if mako would never think of it that way. he just knows it's better to lead bolin to an answer than giving it to him outright. making his baby brother think for himself. )

If you airbend in front of you, you'll know where the walls and everything are. It shouldn't be too hard, just be careful about it. And keep Pabu with you.

That's a great idea! If I keep the air moving, it's like I can see all around me. I'll be the Toph of Airbenders!
[ When a large man aspires to be a small blind girl. Bolin would rather be the Toph of Earthbenders but he'll take what he can get. ]

Gently, Bolin. Light breeze. No gusts. Other people live here too.

> action bc... sigh
Will you stop? I didn't mean like that!

[ He knows enough not to ... try again. If something gets broken it's not like they have the money to pay for it. ]
Also, it might just be me, but that sounded more like an ... Earthbending crash than an Airbending crash. I'm familiar with both.
[ Because it was an Earthbending crash! Mako might notice that it doesn't seem to be wind that knocked that bedside table over. No, there's a part of the ground that's sticking out in an unnatural way - something that can only be done with Earthbending (or really bad interior design) ]

Definitely an earthbending crash. Calm down a sec, can you feel it?

[ And that doesn't come at all as a surprise to him. The original Earthbenders were blind. Toph was blind. Canceling out his sight allows Bolin to focus on the energy in the ground, tapping on his natural affinity with the earth. It's something he rarely did back home because he was always so preoccupied with talking or moving about.
He takes a minute to sense his surroundings, then gets into Earthbending stance, raising a small part of the ground just to test his bending out. ]
Mako!!

I see it, I see it.
( he's been feeling the sun in that particular way that firebenders do on and off throughout the day. it's not surprising. but mako sounds proud of bolin, because of course he is. he always is. even when bo does stupid things. )

[ He's a novice at Airbending, but practically a master in his original element. Bolin expresses his elation by bending whatever's around him, making rocks fly up or raising random platforms. It's actually not as much of a disaster as it could be, because he knows how to control his Earthbending. ]
Man, I can't tell you how much I've missed being able to toss rocks around!
[ And it dawns at him that maybe Mako got his bending back too. ] Mako! Mako! Bend at me!

mako just... lets him do his thing, standing back and folding his arms. if a rock lifts too close to him he will absolutely step on it to push it back down. he's smiling, though. a little softly, mostly because bolin can't see it. his brother's happiness has always made him happy too, even if he's terrible at showing it. )
Bro, we're inside the Temple. I really don't think I should be playing with fire.
