( listening, keyword. there's no promise he'll do anything that mako says, largely because the safety of people isn't something he's overwhelmingly flexible on - largely because he wants to help, and to do it on his own terms. he doesn't have any particular beef with the cops as an establishment, but he does think a lot of them are crooked in their ways - gang violence is all too commonplace here, and with the police being easily bought off, it's just a recipe for further criminal activities. dick doesn't think he's special when it comes to visions of right and wrong, but he does have a strong sense of justice for the common folk - the people who can't defend themselves, who are making their livings and just trying to get by. the people who get overlooked by the police too often, when they have other threats to worry about.

all that just to say, he'll probably try to listen to mako, to make his life a little easier, but somethings are just not open to changing. well. maybe they are, with this cop job business. dick will have to - think about it, yeah. )
