Well, why not? You're practically doing my job for me at this point. You care about the city, and more importantly you care about the people in it. I can't think of anyone better to have beside me.

( it's not lip service in the least. mako thinks he'd be a good cop. and that the force could use more people like him. he'd certainly never thought about it, until beifong gave him the chance. he didn't think he was really cop material, but once he was doing the job, making a difference? he loved it. he thought he'd loved pro-bending, but. he realizes now, it was just a means to an end. something he could do well at. the roar of the crowd gave him a high that he didn't think he could ever duplicate. the accolades were incredible. the money was... well, it kept he and bolin off the streets.

but after becoming a cop, he's realized — this is where he wants to be. what he wants to be doing. and he'll do it now until he can't, until he's either killed or too busted down. )
